Dunn Wildcats Basketball Teams was established in the Winter of 1995.​

The first organized sports teams that was developed through the Dunn Police Athletic/Activities League was Softball in summer of 1995 with three teams, then in the fall of 1995 we started our first Flag Football Teams with three teams and in the winter of 1995 we started our first basketball teams. All our teams in 1995 were primarily intramural teams.

In 1997 the Dunn Wildcats started their first competitive travel teams with boys basketball in the North Carolina (PHASAC)  Public Housing Authority State Athletic Conference. Dunn Wildcats later in 1998 moved into Boxing with USA Boxing, Flag Football with NFL Flag and in 1999 start Track and Field with USA TRack and Field. The Basketball Program picked up momentum in 1997 with the addition of 2 girls teams and 2 boys teams playing in National Police Athletic League Tournaments, and in 2000 joined USSSA and AAU Organizations before entering with USBA in 2008.
